Latest Updates from Our Project:

Final Hours!
about 1 month ago – Wed, Sep 18, 2024 at 10:19:31 AM

As of this update, we are in the final 19 hours of the campaign, and it has been a wild ride. We set our initial goal of $20,000, hoping to fund day one with the cardboard version of the game, and you all made it happen. We had to set our initial stretch goals a little high simply because of the cost of wood and heat transfer printing, and you knocked those out of the park in the first two weeks.

So far, you all have unlocked 12 stretch goals for the game. There is only one more, and we are about $4500 from unlocking it. One more goal and less than a day to do it, but we think it's going to happen.

On a different note, we got another preview, this time from Tabletop United. Check it out when you get the chance. They were working from one of our hand made prototypes, so rest assured the final version will be even prettier.

Entering the Final Stretch!
about 1 month ago – Sun, Sep 15, 2024 at 05:34:51 AM

A quick update on this beautiful Sunday morning.

Ladies and gents, we are in the final days of the Winter Rabbit campaign. For those who have never backed on Kickstarter before, the final 2-3 days tend to see an uptick in backers as people who saved the campaign earlier swing back to see what has unlocked and jump on board. We are already seeing this increase in backers, and it is exciting.

Last night, we unlocked the update to the "The First Fire" story card and added the Spider token to the game. And we are already well on our way toward unlocking the larger rabbit Season Tracker next. After that, it will take a longer haul to that final stretch goal to add the linen storage bags to the game, but we still think we can make it happen. Keep on talking about the game and sharing it on social media, and let's make this happen.

Our next update will be on Wednesday after the campaign ends. We will be constantly refreshing the page between now and then to see where we end up.

Final Stretch Goals Revealed!
about 2 months ago – Thu, Sep 12, 2024 at 06:01:59 AM

This update is a little earlier than planned, but we did the numbers and have added the final three stretch goals to the campaign page. We have 6 days to unlock these last three. But we think it's doable.

The first new goal is focused on Spider. The Spider design came in a close second on the poll for the bag design, and it's a design we almost used for the back of the story cards themselves. So, since a lot of you seem to love it, and we know we do, we decided it had to find its way into the game somehow. We already had a card that told the story of how Spider brought fire to the animals, and while it had a decent effect, we've swapped that out for one that will add a neutral token to the Villager bag as Spider comes to help you prepare for Winter.

Next, several people mentioned wanting to see a larger Rabbit Token for the season tracker. So that is what we are going to do. If we unlock this one, the Rabbit token will increase to 36mm x 18mm, or about 1.5 inches by 3/4 of an inch. Giving our wily Rabbit a bigger presence on the board as Winter approaches.

And our final stretch goal of the campaign focuses on sustainability. Replacing the small plastic bags that come with most games. Instead, we hope to provide you with several small linen bags that will allow you to store all the beautifully painted wooden tokens from the game in style. This one does have a very high goal because of the cost of adding the bags, but we think we can get there.

And the Winning Design is...
about 2 months ago – Wed, Sep 11, 2024 at 09:07:38 AM

We've made it to day 23 of the campaign and passed $53,000 in pledges last night. Thank you all so much for the support. We only have a week left, so please keep sharing the campaign, and let's see how high we can get this thing.

We also have a bunch of updates for you today, so lets get on with the show.

Bag Design

Last week, we put up a poll for the design we will print on the bag.

After tallying up the votes here and across our social media, we have a winner! Drum roll, please, for the results...
Villager Symbol (C) - 41% of the votes
Spider (A) - 36% of the votes
Rabbit (B) - 23% of the votes

And here are the color treatments we are looking at, so again we ask for your opinions as we finalize the files for the game. Which of these five do you like better?

Jadaculla Rock Token

We also wanted to unveil the token design for the Jadaculla Rock story card. We've attempted to represent some of the more notable petroglyphs found on the actual stone.

And here are some pictures from a visit Will made to the actual rock in North Carolina.

Additional Stretch Goals

We are still looking at our options for final stretch goals, but the remaining things we'd like to do cost a bit, and we are trying to find the sweet spot for them to make sure we can afford to do them. Hopefully, we will be able to reveal something by the end of this week to push toward in the campaign's final days.

Judacula Rock unlocked!
about 2 months ago – Mon, Sep 09, 2024 at 08:15:11 AM

First, thanks to everyone who has voted on the previous update already. While we have not replied to any of them, we continue monitoring and tallying up those votes. We plan on announcing the winning design on Wednesday.

Next, we officially unlocked another stretch goal last night. Every copy of Winter Rabbit will come with the Judacula Rock story card and its token.

We know there aren't any other stretch goals showing yet. We are reviewing our numbers and will reveal the next batch of stretch goals on Wednesday. Until then, let's talk about another amazing member of our team.

Jonnie Ketcher

Jonnie is responsible for all the icons and layouts you see in Winter Rabbit and the beautiful designs for all the animals in the game, including the big ole Rabbit on the cover.

She also brought a number of great ideas to the design. Adding the footprints of the animals to the score trackers was all Jonnie's idea. And she came up with the icon for the back of all the villager Tokens.

She also came up with the idea for the hand symbols on the Task cards that are part of the cost and rewards of the cards. It's a simple thing, but it adds to the feel and theme of the game.

The close work between here and Kendra is why Winter Rabbit looks so unique and beautiful. We couldn't have made this game without the two of them bringing their talent and ideas.
